Le Labo Fragrance

So I know I started this blog about real people style, but real people also have dreams about what their house would smell like if they weren’t in a constant state of doing laundry and running from one thing to the next. Also, it’s my birthday next week so if someone out there is feeling like doing some random acts of kindness… my email is in the contact section and I can offer you all the dance classes your heart desires. With that, we talk about Le Labo Fragrances.

First off, they have the most photogenic store we’ve ever seen. It’s kind of amazing because it’s pretty set up for people to come in, ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh’ over the smells, and then take photos of pretty much everything while no one is looking. Basically, shout outs to your brand environment team.

See? Such good lighting and it just screams “TAKE A PHOTO YOU ELEGANT SOB”.

Being honest, this is a little pricey for some good smells, whether it’s candles or cologne.

The Fine Fragrances can range from $120 (not bad, little more outside of what we’d spend for a small bottle) to $840 (big bottle that should last you until retirement, but still a pretty penny).  Don’t get us wrong, high quality stuff, but again, we’re based in San Francisco and sadly, this guy chose communications vs computer science as his degree, at what could be described as a ‘questionable at best’ university.

Body Care is more reasonably priced (ranges $50-70 per bottle. The Bergamote lotion came pretty highly recommended by some of our friends so definitely worth checking out. As we start to get older (key word, START), skin care is becoming one of those more prevalent themes in our daily lives. Something to think about…

It’s definitely an investment but the good news is that unless you’re attempting to recreate a Jersey Shore-esque cloud of hairspray, it should last you a while. I bought a bottle of awesome cologne (Amber Wood from Zara) two years ago and I still have like a quarter of a bottle left.

HINT ZARA HELP A GUY OUT.

All that said, the sense of smell is powerful and having an association with something this good isn’t a bad thing. The must haves are the Jasmin 17 and if you can swing one of the solid perfume bars, you’re really winning at life and should be celebrated.

This is magic. It can literally take you from “I was hit by a monsoon aka sweat from soulcycle” to “Why yes, I did just shower with angels”.

Number 1 recommendation.

With that, if you happen to read this and buy something (or just have bought something before), hit me up and let me know your thoughts. Basically, what should I smell like next?
